Lowry, Garrett claim NTJCAC Players of the Week honors

Traci Lowry of McLennan Community College and Olivia Garrett of McLennan Community College were named the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Players of the Week.

A freshman catcher from Franklin, Texas, Lowry is the NTJCAC Position Player of the Week. Overall, she batted .889 for the week with 3 doubles, a triple and 7 RBI. She also scored 3 runs and reached base via 3 walks. She went 3-3 with a triple and 2 RBI and 2 runs scored in McLennan's 5-0 win over Cisco in Game 1 of their series. She went 2-for-2 with 2 doubles, 3 RBI, 2 runs scored and 2 walks in 14-0 win over Cisco (5 innings). She went 2-for-22 with a double and an RBI in 9-1 win over Cisco (5 innings).

A right-handed pitcher from Booneville, Mississippi, Garrett is the NTJCAC Pitcher of the Week. She won both of her appearances last week. In her first outing, she tossed a complete game to get a 5-0 win over Cisco. In that game, she allowing just 3 hits and a walk while striking out 12. In her second game, she pitched the Highlanders to a 14-0 run-rule win over Cisco, allowing 2 hits and a walk with 4 strikeouts in 4 innings.
