Eastfield to Host District Tournament Wednesday-Saturday

Dallas College Eastfield will host the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District Baseball Tournament Wednesday-Saturday.

The No. 1-ranked Harvester Bees clinched the top seed in the six-team postseason tournament. Eastfield won the Dallas Athletic Conference regular season championship for a fifth straight year.

Eastfield (41-13) and Dallas College Brookhaven (24-27) earned first round byes, and will play in Thursday's double-elimination round.

No. 3 seed Dallas College North Lake (27-29) will play No. 6 Dallas College Cedar Valley (18-34) in the single-elimination round 11 a.m. Wednesday. Fourth-seeded Dallas College Richland (24-28-1) meets fifth-seeded Dallas College Mountain View (20-30) in the second elimination round game at 2 p.m.

Richland won the past two district titles, receiving automatic berths to the NJCAA Division III World Series. Two years ago, Eastfield received an at-large bid to the national tournament.

All games will be broadcast on the DAC Sports Network.
