Odessa wins Men's Golf National Championship

Odessa College's golf team won the NJCAA Men's National Championship with a four-round total of 1166, which was four strokes ahead of second-place Indian Hills Community College.

The tournament was held May 16-19 at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, Kan.

Odessa College (+14) was first, Midland College (+31) finished fourth, McLennan Community College (+45) was fifth, Western Texas College (+55) was seventh and New Mexico Junior College (+61) was ninth.

For Odessa, Adam Blomme fired a four-round total of 289 to finish second, Van Thomas had a 290 to place third, Dustin Lewis had a 291 to tie for fourth, Augustin Hole had a 298 to tie for 15th, and Chris Finnie had a 311 to tie for 55th.

Midland's Stefan Cronje had a 291 to tie for fourth and Michael Salazar had a 295 to tie for 10th.

McLennan's Stefan Cronje had a 291 to tie for fourth.
